____In
the beginning, it was a goal - to give to space travelers a portable
medical device that could become their universal medical assistant
in space. It ought to be capable of replacing an entire medical
hospital, with its diagnostic and treatment facilities, staff, and
even pharmacy. With all of this, it had to be much safer, a
universal non-invasive portable regulator of body functions.
____Such
unique medical device has been created in a Special Design Bureau,
located in Taganrog a small southern Russian town. Its name was
SCENAR (Self-Controlled Energo-Neuro Adaptive Regulator).
____For
a long time SCENAR remained ‘closed’ research of Soviet Space Medicine.
It only became publicly known in the end of the 80’s because of
“Perestroika” and the breakdown of the USSR. Consequently, the government
financing of many scientific programs in the country was discontinued,
enabling scientists to be involved in business and conduct their
research openly.
____Since
the day the SCENAR was introduced to the public, more than 250,000
people with various pathologies have been treated worldwide. More
than 3,000 Specialists from all medical professions now use the
SCENAR in their daily practice.
____To
this day Dr. Karasev, the SCENAR’s inventor, and other top research
scientists continue to improve the technology brining it closer
to the “Star
Trek” device used on the popular science fiction series.
These
researchers are developing better models, replacing the old “T.V.
remote control” style units with compact, more effective, reliable
and better-built SCENARS.
